NutriCharge Helps Set Non-Irrigated Soybean World Record: 154.98 Bu/Acre

Veteran grower Chris Weaver of Hickory Hollow Farms in Finksburg, Maryland has set a new world record for non-irrigated soybean yield, achieving an extraordinary 154.98 bushels per acre. AgroTech USA's NutriCharge technology was a key component of this record-setting program.

A Collaborative Achievement

The record was achieved through a partnership between Weaver and three technology companies:

  • AgroTech USA's NutriCharge - Advanced charge control chemistry to maximize phosphorus availability and prevent tie-up in the soil
  • Locus AG biologicals - Rhizolizer Prime and Bombigro for root vigor and stress tolerance
  • Concept AgriTek - Calbor, VermiBoost, and foliar nutrition for in-season plant health

"We didn't chase a record with gimmicks. We did it with a real-world setup that other growers can relate to," said Chris Weaver. "What made the difference was having a trusted team around the farm. AgroTech USA's NutriCharge worked together with our agronomy to keep this crop fed, healthy, and finishing strong."

Conservation-Focused Excellence

What makes this record particularly significant is how it was achieved:

  • No-till system - Maintaining soil health and structure
  • Non-irrigated - No supplemental water beyond natural rainfall
  • Real-world conditions - A setup other growers can replicate

This proves that elite, contest-level yields are possible while maintaining conservation-minded practices.

The Role of Phosphorus Efficiency

James Paterson, Co-Founder of AgroTech USA, emphasized the importance of nutrient efficiency: "This performance is proof that better phosphorus, and overall nutrient efficiency, is a key lever in conservation systems."

NutriCharge's charge control chemistry maximizes phosphorus availability at critical growth stages, ensuring plants receive the nutrients they need when they need them most—even in challenging non-irrigated conditions.

Validated Results

The performance was independently evaluated. Melvin Baile, a Maryland farmer and member of the Maryland Grain Producers Association who monitored the weights, said: "We see a lot of soybeans come across the scale, but this load was different. I knew they were going to be good, but I didn't know they were going to be that good."

What This Means for Growers

This record demonstrates that partnership-driven agronomy—combining biological, foliar, and nutrient-efficiency technologies—can unlock new performance ceilings. For growers committed to conservation practices, it shows that you don't have to choose between sustainability and maximum yield.
